8 Ways To Stay Productive When There Is No Internet!

Last Updated on March 5, 2021

Sometimes the world is against you and cuts off your internet connection for no apparent reason. You try every troubleshooting procedure you can remember, but nothing works. You call your internet service provider, and they can’t help you either. You finally accept that you’ll have to spend the next hours of your day offline until the technician arrives to solve your problem finally. What a bummer; just when you were feeling productive and getting a lot of work done from home. When we have no internet, it seems that the world stops and we don’t have anything to do. We can’t work, and we can’t do any fun activities such as enjoying our music and movie streaming services, watching youtube videos, or playing online games. Relax. You can always find a way to stay productive. You just need to want to.

    1. Keep working

You may need an internet connection to perform the majority of your work. That’s how it is nowadays. But, however small it may be, there is certainly a task you can do without it. Even offline, you still have access to many services. Google is the perfect example since they provide offline access to services such as Gmail, Docs, or Calendar. This means you can access critical pieces of information to keep working offline. Similarly, you can still do photo and video editing tasks using, for example, Adobe’s software (Photoshop and Premiere). Or you can take a moment to clean your computer’s drive and organize your files. If your computer is your main work tool, it’s important to keep it neat to improve your workflow. It’s time for you to stop being that guy with 47 shortcuts on the desktop.

    2. Write

Sit down. Open a blank page on Word. Or grab a notebook and a pen if you are feeling those old school vibes. And start writing. It could be anything, from a list of blog article ideas to update your blog (or even start it, if that’s the case) to a brainstorm writing exercise where you write down all your plans for your next project. Allow yourself to be creative. At the end of the session, reread everything carefully. If there is anything you like, start exploring and developing it. This might be the start of your next big personal achievement, who knows.
