Access the contact list or recent call list, locate the phone number you want to block, and either tap and hold to get a menu showing the “block” option or scroll down all the way down to the bottom after clicking on the number to click on “Block number” option located on the right side of the screen.

On an older Android device, such as Android Lollipop, go to the Phone app, select Call Setting, click on “Call Rejection,” then type in the number you want to block, and voila!

#3 – Block a number on a Windows system

Microsofts is no loner manufacturing Windows phones or sending updates to the ones that have already been released, so if you still own a smartphone that has Windows 10 as its mobile operating system, here is how to block an unwanted number:

Click on Settings, click on Call+SMS Filter, accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and switch on the option to block calls.

Next, go straight to call history by tapping the Phone app, tap and hold the phone number that you want to block, and select the “Block Number” option then tap “ok” to confirm. This will block the number from calling or messaging you entirely.

Microsft itself recommends that you switch to an Android or iOS smartphone if you’re still using a Windows phone! It’s a wiser decision, after all.

#4 – Download call block apps

When your smartphone device doesn’t do a good job blocking spam calls from unknown numbers, call block apps are to the rescue!

Some of the best apps for blocking numbers include:

● Truecaller for Android: A free call and SMS-blocking app.
● Mr.Number for Android: A free, popular app that automatically blocks spam messages without the need for you to blacklist them.
● Hiya app for iOS: It automatically detects and blocks calls from telemarketers, and warns of potential fraudsters.
● Sync. ME for iOS: It identifies unknown numbers and blocks them automatically.

With these apps, unwanted callers will forever be blocked from your phone.
