Learn how to keep your phone safe from hackers by respecting the following:

• Keep your smartphone operating system up to date.

• Make sure your smartphone apps are also up to date.

• Avoid accessing your smartphone with public Wi-Fi.

• Always use strong and complex passwords.

• Always lock your smartphone.

• Always use two-factor authentication.

• Be careful about spam and phishing emails.

• Use internal device protections.

• Be aware that the antivirus app is an extraordinary asset.

• Manage app permissions correctly.

• Always back up everything on your smartphone.

• Do not download from unsafe, non-recommended websites.

#4 – Health Devices

There are health devices such as insulin pumps, heart devices, defibrillators, and other intelligent devices that can be remotely controlled in order to ensure their users greater comfort and control of their health problems.

However, these health gadgets can easily be used as spy devices by hackers, which means they can have perverse and terrifying consequences on the wrong hands.

#5 – Voice Assistants

There are currently several voice assistants on the market, including:

• Apple Siri Voice Assistant on HomePod smart speaker.

• Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant on the Echo smart speaker.

• Google Voice Assistant on Google Home smart speaker.

All of them are always listening in order to do what they are designed to do: control and automate smart home appliances so you have the least work possible and the most comfort in your home.

However, like smartphones, they obey voice controls like “Alexa” or “Ok Google” and to recognize these “alert words” they are always on and “listening” to everything that is spoken inside the house in order to act accordingly.

At this point, people are more skeptical because voice assistants are always “listening” and, while not acting when such warning words are not spoken, information can easily be spied on and manipulated by others.

#6 – Security Cameras

Similar to malware that can be installed on your laptop and that controls your camcorder to obtain users’ intimate or confidential photos or videos, the transmission of a home’s hidden security cameras can be accessed and used for spying.
