If you enjoy crime and thriller movies, and of course, Mathew McConaughey, then the Licon Lawyer may be a great afternoon movie to watch at home. The movie, from 2011, directed by Brad Furman, is an adaptation of a novel by Michael Connely, which tells the story about a criminal defense lawyer whose job is to defend a wealthy man. Still, he ends up believing that his client could be guilty of many crimes. Mathew McConaughey is a fantastic actor capable of portraying any character, but it almost comes naturally to him here. It’s not a mind-blowing film, but it will keep you entertained on a Sunday evening.
2. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (November 27)
Based on Ashleigh Powell’s screenplay, «The Nutcracker and the Four Realms» is a Disney movie directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston. It’s an adventure and fantasy movie made for kids and grown-ups who love a little bit of magic in their lives. It follows the story of a girl who goes on an adventure to retrieve a special key to open a mysterious box that her deceased mother gave to her. If you have kids, this is a great choice for a family movie night. The movie counts with many famous actors such as Morgan Freeman, Eugenio Derbez, Mckenzie Foy, Keira Knightley, and many others.
3. Anaconda (November 30)
Let’s go back to 1997, the year where the first Anaconda movie came out. If the name doesn’t ring any bell, then Jennifer Lopez’s might. Besides being a singer, Jennifer Lopez has participated in tons of movies. “Anaconda” was one of the first ones. It is an action/horror film about a documentary film crew that travels to the Amazon rainforest to shoot their movie. In the meantime, they’re manipulated by a snake hunter who is on his way to hunt a giant anaconda. The film, directed by Luis Llosa didn’t do too well amongst the critics, but it was a success in box offices, grossing more than 135 million while the budget for the film was around 45 million. It is also considered to be a cult classic since many other “Anaconda” movies followed it.
