The detectors that work with light use multiple flashing LEDs that help by lighting up the camera lens – all you need to do is hold them up to eye level and tour the room patiently. The RF method is even simpler since the majority of the detectors will beep once they have found a signal to let you know that you might be near a potential camera. The con is that there are a lot of gadgets that transmit RF, so you can end up finding lots of objects that simply aren’t spying on you. Plus, if the camera is not on or if it’s not broadcasting, you might think everything is ok when it’s not.
