If you are not using your computer and all of a sudden you see some blinking lights saying you are receiving or sending stuff, it is time to start figuring out how to fix your hacked computer.
6. Your apps are starting to act up
One of the most well-known approaches to data collection is the simple process of injecting an attacker code on the targeted application.
As a result of this “infection,” the app might start to run slowly or to frequently crash. If this starts to happen constantly and you can’t find a reasonable explanation, consider running a safety check up.
7. You start seeing more pop-up ads
Suddenly starting to see browser add-ons or plug-ins whose installation you can’t recall, there is a chance your device is infected. These usually serve the purpose of helping the hacker to monetize from their access to your computer.
Plus, if you seem to be seeing a lot of pop-up advertisements, there is a chance your computer might be infected as well. We can’t stress this enough: invest in virus protection.
8. Your homepage changed
A sudden change in your homepage – a change that you didn’t make, of course – could also be a reason for concern.
If when you open your browser you are presented with an unfamiliar page, this could be a sign of spyware. To make sure this is the case, check your browser settings. If you notice any modifications and you realize you are not able to change the settings, it is highly likely you got hacked.
