4. iPhone Optimized Battery Charging
The iPhone’s battery life is not the best in the market, but it is fair to say that it is pretty good and cannot be considered a weakness. Apple is now focused on increasing the lifespan and performance of its batteries through software and machine learning. Optimized Battery Charging is a new iPhone feature that was introduced with the iOS 13. To put it simply, it reduces the time your iPhone spends fully charged (something that is known to reduce the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries). The software learns your smartphone charging routine and automatically activates this mode when it predicts the iPhone will be charging for an extended period to delay charging past 80% until near the time you usually disconnect it from the charger. However, this feature might not be a great option for people who have an extremely unpredictable charging routine. So, if you want to disable it (it is enabled by default), go to Settings, tap Battery – Battery Health, and turn of Optimized Battery Charging.
