8. Y Tu Mamá También (November 30)
You may know Alfonso Curaón from his winning oscar movie “Rome” back in 2018, “Gravity” in 2013, or even as the director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. But it was this road movie “Y Tu Mamá También” that allowed his breakthrough within the international film industry. It’s a coming of age movie about two teenagers that are best friends and their road trip to an exotic beach with an older woman they decided to invite. The explicit depiction of drugs and sex might not be everyone’s taste, but the movie is more about emotional healing and tenderness between this unusual group.
9. Zodiac (November 30)
One of the last good movies on Netflix that every cinema fan should watch is David Fincher’s movie, “Zodiac,” starring amazing actors such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Dave Toschi, Robert Downey, Jr., Chloë Sevigny, and Anthony Edwards. It’s a mystery film about one of the most infamous unsolved murder cases in history, the Zodiac Killer, a serial killer on the loss between the ’60s and ’70s in California. Jake Gyllenhaal, a newspaper cartoonist, ends up becoming an obsessive detective who studies the killer’s moves while figuring out his motives and whereabouts. In reality, to this day, the Zodiac killer has never been truly identified.
10. You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (November 30)
Sometimes you want to sit on the couch and watch a funny movie to decompress after a long day. This classic movie starring Adam Sandler could be just what you need. The movie itself was very controversial since it revolves around Adam Sandler portraying Zohan Dvir. This Israeli army counterterrorist ends up faking his death to follow his dream of being a New York hairstylist. Nonetheless, it’s a super funny movie and was, of course, a huge success, grossing more than 200 million.
